Jacquees forced to remove Ella Mai ‘Trip remix’ after song takes over internet
Ella Mai has been a fan favourite since dropping her hit singles, She Don’t and Boo’d Up. Her latest single, Trip had many calling her their favourite female artist and saw her tracks climb charts across the globe.
Since releasing the track, Ella Mai dropped the visuals for the popular single. The video has more than three million views.
R&B singer Jacquees decided to take the already popular track and release his own version of the song.
The remix instantly became a hit among fans and Jacquees’ version of Trip had everyone going crazy and swooning over the singer’s voice.
Trip remix quickly started trending and many loved Jacquees’ spin on the already popular track. But when the remix began receiving more attention than the original, Jacquees was forced to remove the track from YouTube and SoundCloud.
The visuals Jacquees released for the Trip remix have also been removed and can no longer be found online.
Further details as to why Jacquees was forced to remove the track and video are still unknown.
FAN OPINIONS:
Dude made a whole video for his unofficial remix that used her melody and a majority of her lyrics before Ella Mai even had a chance to drop her own video. Of course the label got involved and it's not her fault. She even showed love to his initial IG clip of him singing it. https://t.co/CAtEOcOAMm

I forget that everyone isn’t in the industry so they don’t know things. Y’all know Ella Mai did not personally make Jacquees take down his “Trip” remix, right? She’s signed to a whole ass label. They do that with or without her permission.

💯 emoji twitter is mad because Ella Mai’s people removed Jacquees’ remix of Trip off SoundCloud and Youtube. He didn’t just post a remix, he shot a whole video lol you can’t treat someone else’s single like it’s yours

This Ella Mai and Jacquees situation reminds me of what I miss about the physical/digital download era. If Wayne hopped on your beat, wasn’t a damn thing you could do about it.
