Get To Know: Metrist

Metrist is a singular artist who’s work has been released on labels such as Timedance, Neighbourhood and Ansia, as well as his own SOSOSO imprint.

Known for his intricate productions and other-wordly sound design, Joseph Higgins pushes the boundaries of club music one release at a time. Take tracks like ‘Bputch’ and his remix of 96 Back’s ‘Laco’ for example. You’ll be hard pressed to find another artist that gets the likes of Batu and Joy Orbison to play foghorns in their sets.

A Rinse resident since 2022, Metrist has welcomed kindred spirits like Jabes, Stem, Hedo Hydr8, Significant Other and Maddison Willing onto the show. You can catch him every 2nd Thursday of the month at 11PM, live on Rinse FM.
