Forecasters have warned Mother Nature is set to batter London in the coming days. Whilst sleet and snow flurries will hit most of the country, the weather will show no mercy unleashing up to 10 centimetres of snow and freezing conditions of -12 expected to cripple the Capital. Wide spread frost is expected to make driving conditions treacherous. A yellow ‘Be Prepared’ warning has been put in place for the capital extended from Friday to Monday.

Met Office forecaster Marco Petagna said ‘there will be snow late in the day in London on Monday. At this stage, the south east could well see some wintry showers. There may be sleet and snow on the hills and there is certainly potential that the suburbs of London will see a covering.” Day time temperatures are expected to crawl to only 6C, with winds forcing the temperatures down.

Mr Petagna added that that the weekend will “be much colder than it has been in recent weeks” it is expected some areas of the country will struggle to see temperatures above freezing.

The weather shows no signs of letting up, with wind and snow, and temperatures struggling to reach double digits predicted for the nation.

For now, the forecast beyond next week is unclear, however forecasters predict that more cold weather is on the way, with the chance of a white out for England and Scotland.
