Guerrilla Sounds | (Documentary): SBTV x Sky Atlantic #Guerrilla

#SBTV10 was the start of an SBTV REVIVAL that aims to take music discovery to new heights and curate unconventional, thought-provoking, documentaries, films and campaigns, designed to inspire our generation as well as unearth new learning.

2017 kicked off the relaunch of SBTV, celebrating 10 monumental years in the game, with exclusive performances from Rag’n’Bone Man, Elderbrook, Novelist and Ed Sheeran — who dropped a fresh F64 on our doorstep to specially mark the occasion.

A decade stronger, we want our our slogan ‘Share’, ‘Build’, ‘Teach’, ‘Vibes’ to be more than just a strapline.

Which brought us to #Guerrilla.

This year as part of #SBTV10 we were passionate about making content that made powerful and symbolic statements. Naturally as part of this, we had to turn to one of the revolutionaries of our time Kojey Radical for more inspiration. A few conversations later, Kojey shared his recent experience of John Ridley’s Sky Atlantic drama Guerrilla. The themes highlighted an almost untouched part of British history that highlighted a Black Power Movement in the 1970’s that shaped British history. Kojey, determined to make a song for his generation and inspired by the themes of the drama, linked up with SBTV, to start a journey that would see him use his artistic practice to create a song for his generation and documentary Guerrilla Sounds.
