Fast food branch McDonald’s are planning to introduce table services in a restaurant type style to around 400 of its UK branches.

Customers will also be able to queue at the till, but they will also be available to simply sit at a table and have a staff member bring the food to their table, acting as a waiter.

The food chain is revamping hundreds of their restaurants  and it is thought that burgers will have to be ordered and cooked in a restruant style before being served, instead of being cooked already and wrapped waiting for someone to order and just take off the food rack.

It comes after a successful trial in which customers ordered their food at a digital kiosk and then waited for it to be taken to their table.

McDonalds also plans to double the number of restaurants which sell their signature premium burgers. There are currently 1,250 McDonalds in the UK.

Paul Pomroy, chief executive of McDonald’s UK, said: “Investing in our customer experience is paramount.

“It’s important that we continue to listen to the 3.7 million people who visit us every day and respond with even more reasons for them to come to our restaurants.
