Adidas EQT x GRM Daily Takeover

Yesterday we shut down Victoria House in Central London with our very own takeover day at the adidas EQT creator studio. Hosted by Yung Filly, the day saw some of our scene’s biggest names grace the stages of our two panels and live event to finish off the takeover.

The day kicked off at 2pm with our “How to Make a Track” workshop featuring producer Steel Banglez and videographer Frost who have both worked on numerous Mist tracks. Banglez talked the audience through everything from the studio process to knowing when you have a hit, while Frost spoke about the making of the “Ain’t the Same” video including location sourcing, narratives and difficulties.

Later, Belly Squad, Tion Wayne and producer Remedee brought the studio to the basement of Victoria House in their live workshop. With Remedee creating a brand new beat on the spot, the guys wrote and performed a whole, cohesive track in less than 40 minutes. Belly Squad and Tion chatted to the audience about how they come up with lyrics, got into music, and their future plans before Remedee shed some light on the intricate process of producing.

Finally, to carry the evening in a big way, we hosted live performances from SNE, Lotto Boyzz, Not3s, Tion Wayne and Kojo Funds, backed by an incredible live band The Compozers. All dressed in adidas’ brand new EQT collection, the show was opened by Selecta Suave and YBE, before SNE took to the stage. Every act’s vibe blended perfectly with The Compozers, bringing an innovative sound to their biggest tracks. To close the night off, we had P Montana killing his set and continuing the party into the later hours of the night.

Big ups to adidas for having us, and we hope all who attended enjoyed the day and learnt something about what goes on behind the scenes of making music.
